Richard S. Banas
President and Chief Executive Officer - Catlin US
Richard Banas joined Catlin in April 2006 as president and chief executive officer of Catlin US. Prior to joining Catlin, he was executive vice president and chief underwriting officer of XL Professional Lines. He previously served as chief underwriting officer for XL's global insurance operations. He also served as a managing director of One Beacon Insurance Group and as senior vice president and chief insurance operating officer at CGU-North America. He also held various underwriting and business development responsibilities at St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, where he worked for more than 20 years.
Vincent Brazauskas
Executive Director - Catlin US
Vincent Brazauskas joined Catlin in April 2006, with responsibility to oversee Catlin US’s administrative functions including Claims, Human Resources, Facilities and IT. In April 2010, Vince decided to substantially scale back his activities for Catlin and relinquished executive responsibility for all departments he had except Claims. Vince continues to serve on a number of Group and US committees and remains a vital part of the Catlin US executive team. Prior to joining Catlin, he was the Chief Administrative Officer at Commercial Union / CGU / OneBeacon Insurance Company. He also previously served as the Vice President of Claims for this same company. Prior to that, he has held a variety of claim positions of increasing responsibility. He has over 30 years of insurance experience. He is a graduate of Duquesne University and has also obtained the Associate in Claims (AIC) Designation from the Insurance Institute
Dick Miller
Chief Administrative Officer - Catlin US
Dick Miller joined Catlin in June 2009 as Director of Finance and in May 2010 accepted the responsibility of CAO to oversee Catlin US’s Actuarial, Facilities, Human Resources, and IT departments. Prior to joining Catlin, he held a senior finance role with XL Insurance having joined that company early in its development and helped build its financial operations as it grew into a major specialty insurer. He is a MBA graduate from the University of Connecticut and has the following designations: CPA, CPCU and CLU.
Peter W. Presperin
Chief Financial Officer
Peter Presperin joined Catlin in December 2006 as chief financial officer of Catlin US. Prior to joining Catlin, he was the chief financial officer of Zurich's Discontinued Operations in the US. He previously served as the CFO of Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and as CFO of GE Capital's Life Insurance Operations. Peter has held a variety of insurance-related finance positions in the insurance industry in his 25-year career.
Nick Greggains
Chief Underwriting Officer-Insurance
Nick Greggains joined Catlin in June 2007 as chief underwriting officer-insurance for Catlin US. He had previously been president and chief operating officer of XL Design Professional, a unit of XL Insurance. Prior to joining XL, he held positions at Brown & Brown Risk Management and Corcoran & Havlin Insurance. He began his career at Commercial Union Assurance Co. in the UK, later transferred to the US and eventually served as vice president of global risks for CGU Insurance, the successor company to Commercial Union.
Joe Horan
Chief Underwriting Officer-Reinsurance
Joe was appointed chief underwriting officer-reinsurance for Catlin US in January 2009. He joined Catlin as director of accident and health reinsurance in December 2006 following Catlin's acquisition of Wellington Underwriting plc. After beginning his career with Reliance National, he has held underwriting and executive positions at Reinsurance Management Services and Duncanson & Holt. He helped found the Reinsurance Management Group in 1999. Joe is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo.
